School History 1960-1969
In 1960 on the 14th of October the Coulthard Memorial Hall was opened by The Honourable Baden Pattinson, LL.B., M.P., Minister of Education.

In 1964 the new Headmaster Mr. T.R.G. Harper was a keen cricketer and strongly encouraged cricket and all other sports. He entered the school in the B Grade of the Barossa and Light Cricket Association and won the premiership for the season. A debate with the topic "Should Australia be a republic?" caused considerable controversy in the school. Assemblies always ended with the anthem "God Save The Queen," but 'Angas House' who wanted Australia to become a republic, remained seated during the singing.
In 1966 the school was visited by world famous chess player Gary Koshnitsky who played 20 of the members of the Chess Club simultaneously and defeated all of them. The school art gallery to display the work of outstanding students was opened and made accessible to anyone who wanted to see it.
On the 27th of March 1967 the Minister for Education, The Hon. R.R. Loveday opened the school's new tennis courts.
